Shalaine Stebner is a singer/songwriter from Central Alberta! She grew up watching her dad play in a band with his buddies, and that lit the flame in her heart! The first time she was invited to play on stage with his band, she was hooked! She took every opportunity available to get on stage with dance, musical theatre, choral, band, etc. After she graduated high school, while music was in her heart, it was not in the cards at that moment. She got her hairdressing license, and music took the back burner. No matter what she did though, she still felt like she was missing something. She inherited her grandpas old guitar, and in her mid 20’s, she started teaching herself how to play! She started playing with her “Old Fart Band”, a group of mostly retired musicians that played at seniors homes and hospitals, and they taught her so much and gave her the confidence to get up and play for herself! When 2020 came around, the band dismembered, but that didn’t stop her! After her husband was laid off and fell into a dark place, that inspired her to start writing music. Her first song, “As Strong As Your Daddy”, was a love song to her son about men’s mental illness, and the response from friends, family, and Facebook, inspired her to keep writing! She loves writing about love, loss, happiness, silly things, basically anything with a story to it! Her current release “Brenda” hit #2 on the Canadian Indie Country Countdown!
